While e-commerce like Shopee has given access to products right at the comfort of the buyer’s home, online shopping also comes with downsides, such as receiving damaged goods or wrong items and undelivered parcels.

So to ensure the needs of the buyers and they’re protected, Shopee allows returns and refunds with terms and conditions applied. And if you’re wondering how to ask refund in Shopee, keep reading. 

What is the refund policy of Shopee?

Before we discuss how to ask refund in Shopee, let’s dive into their refund policy.

First, you can only ask for a refund if you haven’t clicked the Order Received button next to the Return/Refund button. But if your parcel arrived, but the Order Received button isn’t appearing, wait within 24 hours so the couriers can update the status of your purchase. 

On the other hand, if you clicked the Order Received button or the Shoppe Guarantee has expired, you need to immediately reach out to the Seller if you want to request a refund. If you’re not sure what to do, you can always contact Shopee Customer Support. Furthermore, the refund process varies based on the Seller and the type of product you’ve purchased and comes with the following timeframe to request a Return/Refund:

  • Local Marketplace Products- 5 days
  • Overseas Products- 5 days
  • Shopee Mall Products- 7 days

Keep in mind that Shopee’s return coverage timeframe starts with the date your parcel was delivered. 

What are the conditions for a refund in Shopee?

For Refund requests only, you need to meet the following conditions to refund the maximum purchased amount:

  • You’ll be able to refund any product type if the items you’ve received aren’t complete or there are missing parts.
  • You can only refund Local Marketplace and Overseas products if you received the wrong product or variation.
  • If the products arrived with physical damage, such as scratches, dents, or shattered, you can only refund Local Marketplace and Overseas products.
  • You can refund Local Marketplace and Overseas products if it’s a faulty items, malfunctioning, or not working as intended.

For a Return/Refund request, you need to return the item to the Seller/Shopee Warehouse with its original packaging to get a refund for all product types and meet the following conditions:

  • The items received were incomplete or missing parts.
  • The product received with physical damage or malfunctioning.

How to ask refund in Shopee?

Now, to ask refund in the Shopee app, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to Shopee and click the To Receive button.
  2. Under My Purchases, select the Order you want to refund.
  3. On the Order Details page, click the Return/Refund button.
  4. Select the products to Return/Refund and the appropriate Reason for your request.
  5. Attach a photo showing the Reason for the Return/Refund request if you’ve received the product.
  6. In the Description box, briefly explain the problem of the product.
  7. Choose Refund Only as the Solution.
  8. Enter a valid email address.
  9. Then, click Submit.

Nonetheless, if you prefer Return and Refund as the Solution, you need to choose a Shipping Option. Then, choose whether Self-Arrange, Drop-off, or Pick-up to return the items to the Seller. Click Confirm and Submit to complete your request.
