What is GCash GFunds?

Previously called as GInvest, GFunds is a new investment marketplace feature accessible thru the GCash App. This feature is a partnership between GCash, G-Xchange Inc (GXI), its partner product providers, and Seedbox Technologies Inc for back-end processing. With GFunds, GCash users can buy, sell, and manage investment products through the app.

Perks

Unlike banks with high initial investment and fees, GCash users can enjoy the following perks by investing in GFunds:

  • Only requires a fully-verified GCash account (no need for a bank account and valid IDs)
  • Invest for as low as Php 50
  • No commission or sales fees
  • Buy and sell thru your GCash wallet

Requirements

But before applying for GCash GFunds, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years old
  • A fully-verified GCash account

However, GCash restricts users who are citizens of the USA and those with dual citizenship from investing in the following global funds’ products available on GFunds:

  • ATRAM Global Tech Feeder Fund
  • ATRAM Consumer Trends Feeder Fund
  • ATRAM Global Multi-Asset Income Fund
  • Philippine Stock Index Fund

GCash Partner Providers for GFunds

GCash has two (2) partner providers of GFunds, including ATRAM Trust Corporation (ATRAM Trust) and BPI Investment Management, Inc. ATRAM Trust, licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), is the first-stand alone trust corporation in the country. Meanwhile, BPI Investment Management is a firm offering asset management, capital preservation, investment consulting, and financial planning services – a subsidiary of the Bank of the Philippine Islands.

How to apply for GCash GFunds

To apply for GCash GFunds, follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the GCash app on your device.
  2. Log in to your account by entering your 4-digit MPIN.
  3. Tap GInvest and select GFunds on the options.
  4. Enter your email address and click Proceed.
  5. Fill out the Risk Profile Questionnaire and click Next.
  6. Confirm you’re not a US citizen and click Next.
  7. Double-check the details and answers you’ve provided.
  8. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and click Next.
  9. Then, you’ll receive an SMS and email approving your registration for GCash GFunds. 

Take note that your registration will be approved as fast as 15 minutes. But it may take up to two (2) business days if the partner provider encounters a system problem.
