How to Create Metamask Account?

There are two ways to create a Metamask account. First, install the Metamask extension on your PC, and second, download the MetaMask app on your mobile device. Also, the steps below on creating Metamask account will vary a bit based on the browser. Nonetheless, you may follow the standard steps below to create your Metamask account.

How to create Metamask Account on PC

  1. Launch your browser, and search for Metamask Extension or Metamask.io.
  2. Click Metamask, and download it on your browser.
  3. Once you download the Metamask extension, click “Get Started” to create an account.
  4. On the two options provided, choose “Create Wallet”.
  5. Enter a strong password for your account.
  6. Next, check the Terms of Use, and click “Create” to proceed.
  7. An introduction video of Metamask will appear. You can watch or skip, and click “Next”.
  8. To see the Secret Backup Phrase, click the “Click Here to Reveal Secret Words”.
  9. Copy or download the Secret Backup Phrase that you can use to recover your account. Furthermore, ensure that your phrase is in a secured location as others can access your account using it.
  10. Afterward, enter your Secret Backup Phrase, and click “Confirm”.

How to create Metamask Account on Mobile

  1. Download the MetaMask app via Google Play or App Store
  2. Launch the MetaMask app, and click “Get Started”.
  3. Choose “Create Wallet” on the options.
  4. Enter a strong password, agree with the Terms of Use, and click “Create Password”. For iPhone users can also enable “Sign in with Face ID”.
  5. To secure your crypto wallet, copy the Secret Recovery Phrase or Seed Phrase, and then click “Start”.
  6. Next, click “Done” and “I agree” to proceed to your Metamask account.

How to Create an Additional Metamask Account?

Another great thing with Metamask is that it allows users to create another account apart from their default account or Account 1. However, keep in mind that creating another account with Metamask cannot be deleted. So if you want to have multiple accounts with Metamask, follow the steps below to have another Metamask account.

How to create Additional Metamask Account on Browser

  1. Go to Metamask on your browser, and log in to your Account 1.
  2. On the upper right side of your screen, click the circular button or favicon.
  3. Then, on the options, click “Create Account”.
  4. Fill out the Account Name, and click “Create” to have an additional Metamask account.

How to create Additional Metamask Account on Mobile

  1. Launch the Metamask mobile app.
  2. On your Account 1, double-click the favicon.
  3. Then, click “Create New Account” to have another Metamask account. You can also edit your other accounts by tapping on them.
