How to Send Money through Western Union

            Now that you know the remittance fee to bring for the amount you will send, you can now send your money through Western Union. You can start your transaction online and then pay the amount in-store, or you can proceed with your transaction at your nearest Western Union branch.

Start online, then pay in-store

  1. Log in to your Western Union account online using your registered mobile number and password. If you’re not yet registered, create a profile.
  2. Go to the Send Money page, and start your transfer. Enter the destination country and the amount you’d like to send. Select Pay In-Store as the funding method. Click “Continue”.
  3. Enter your receiver’s details, such as their full name, their email address (optional), and mobile number (optional). Click “Continue”.
  4. Review your transaction details, and click “Continue”.
  5. Visit your nearby Western Union branch or remittance agent within 24 hours of making the transaction.
  6. Proceed to the branch personnel and inform them of your online transaction. Provide a valid government-issued ID to verify your profile. 
  7. Pay the principal amount you wish to send and its corresponding remittance fee.
  8. Sign and receive your receipt and take note of the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number).
  9. Inform your receiver that the remittance is ready for claiming. Let them know about the MTCN and the amount sent.

Send in-store

  1. Go to your nearby Western Union branch or Western Union remittance agent.
  2. Fill out the Send Money Form with the required details, such as your Full Name, your Mobile Number, Place and Date of Birth, Address, Amount to be sent, your Receiver’s Full Name, and Relationship with the Receiver. For sending money overseas, provide the Country of Destination and Expected Payout City/State.
  3. Proceed to the branch personnel and give the accomplished Send Money Form along with a valid government-issued ID. 
  4. Pay the principal amount you wish to send and its corresponding remittance fee.
  5. Sign and receive your receipt and take note of the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number).
  6. Inform your receiver that the remittance is ready for claiming. Let them know about the MTCN and the amount sent.

How to Remit Money through Western Union

  1. Go to your nearby Western Union branch or Western Union remittance agent.
  2. Fill out the Receive Money Form with the required details, such as your Name and Mobile Number, your Sender’s Name, Country where the money was sent from, the Expected Amount, and the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number).
  3. Proceed to the branch personnel and give the accomplished Receive Money Form along with a valid government-issued ID. 
  4. Receive your receipt and collect the money you have claimed from the branch personnel.
  5. Check and count your money before leaving the branch.
