When talking about digital wallets, most of us think about and have either GCash or PayMaya installed on our phones, or maybe even both. These two e-wallet giants are competitors in the industry, but sometimes users from the two wallets need to send money to one another. Not everybody has the same e-wallet as you, after all.
Fortunately, it is possible to send cash from PayMaya to GCash and vice versa, and it only takes a few minutes to do the whole process and transfer the money to your recipient’s digital wallet. Read on below to know how you can send cash from PayMaya to GCash, or from GCash to PayMaya.
Send Money From PayMaya to GCash
You need to have an Upgraded PayMaya account to be able to transfer money to GCash and other partner banks. On the other hand, your recipient’s GCash account does not need to be Fully Verified to receive the sent amount. If your account is not yet upgraded, visit the PayMaya website to learn how to get your PayMaya account Upgraded.
- Open and log in to the PayMaya app on your mobile phone.
- From the PayMaya dashboard, tap on “Transfer”.
- Under the “Bank” field, select “GCash” from the dropdown menu.
- Fill up the required fields, like the amount to be sent and the recipient’s details, such as the GCash-registered account number and full name (middle name optional), and purpose of the transaction.
To avoid any inconvenience, the recipient’s name must be the same as the registered name on their GCash account. You can also enter an additional recipient’s mobile number where they prefer to receive the confirmatory SMS if it is different from the GCash-registered account number.
- On the next page, confirm the inputted transaction details, and tap “Send”.
- In a few moments, you and your recipient will receive an SMS from PayMaya and GCash to confirm your successful transaction. The received amount should reflect on the recipient’s GCash dashboard instantly.
